Call for More Ambitious Climate Action

In a small rural village nestled amidst lush greenery, there exists the Great Makyau a school in the heart of the Mua Hills community. Children who attend this school come from humble backgrounds, where opportunities are scarce, and dreams often seem out of reach. However, little do they know that a simple initiative will change their lives and the landscape of their village forever.

It all starts with a visit from MOMO Pencils a group of passionate entrepreneurs who believe in the power of education and sustainability. Armed with eco-friendly pencils made from recycled newspapers and seeds of various fruit trees, we embark on a mission to inspire change in this community.

As the children eagerly gather in the schoolyard, their eyes widen with curiosity as they listen to the stories narrated by the Zamaleo entertainment group explaining the importance of protecting the environment and the role they could play in it. Each child receives an eco-friendly pencil, accompanied by a promise – for every pencil they use, a tree would be planted in their schoolyard.

Excited chatter fills the air as the children are looking forward to narrating their experiences at home, clutching their new pencils tightly. For many of them, it was the first time they held something so unique and meaningful in their hands. As they scribbled and doodled with their pencils, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of responsibility blossoming within them.

The impact of this initiative is extended far beyond the school. Inspired by the children’s enthusiasm and determination, the community is going to cultivate a greener space and adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
